Level Designer Solo Project 10 days UDK Completed |
I have experience with creating projects in UDK. I worked on maps ranging from an obstacle course to puzzle levels and even a 4-player Deathmatch map. For these projects I have worked with both Kismet and Matinee.
In the obstacle course the player must overcome a series of platforming and dodging challenges. The obstacle course was created using Kismet, a set of prefabs and one custom room for the final challenge. Throughout the obstacle course I used rays of light to communicate safe areas to the player. In the final room the player must climb the tower in a race against the rising acid. During the climb the player is tested on whether they can overcome platform and dodge challenges, similar to those found in the rest of the level, but now under time pressure.

The puzzle level consists of a series of puzzles that gradually increase in difficulty. The puzzle are created using Kismet and take advantage of the UDK physics gun. The puzzles consists of a set of gates, buttons and crates. To complete the level the player must utilise their physics gun to pick up crates in order to manoeuver themselves through the puzzle maze. Most puzzles rely on the fact that players can grab crates through fences.
